PARENTS WELCOME

As a parent of an Order of the Arrow Candidate or a New Ordeal Member, I want to welcome you to the Order of the Arrow and congratulate you on having an outstanding son.

Founded in 1915, the Order of the Arrow is Scouting's Honor Society.  It focuses on Leadership, Fellowship and Service and is often called the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service.  Our Lodge has existed since its founding in 1956.  I know that as you look over the activities and events and the information on our web site, you will see that his membership is a fine continuation to the training and experience that he has gained in his unit.  We have a short description of the OA for you and a copy of our Mission Statement.

Since your son has been elected by the members of his unit, we want his first obligation to be to his unit and if any of our events conflict with his unit, we expect him to be with his unit.  However, we offer some exciting leadership and service opportunities during the year that will add much to his unit experience.  Check out our summary of lodge events for a description of some of them.

Please contact us if you have any questions.  As your son becomes a member, registers and obtains his password for the membership part of the site, he will have access to a great deal of information.  You are more then welcome to view it and discuss it with him.
