Adviser's Minute

Spring time is finally here, with that it brings a very busy time of the year for everyone,  there are School finals, Spring sports and activities that we have been waiting all winter to get out and do,  and of course we can’t forget the yard work and spring cleaning.  It is important that we keep balance in our lives by managing our time and weekends to make sure we don’t forget to include the important things in life,  the things that are life changing and create memories that will last a lifetime.  Of course I am talking about keeping the Order of the Arrow and the Spirit of the “Brotherhood of Cheerful Service” as part of your Spring and Summer Activities.

We have several great opportunities for all of the Order of the Arrow members coming up in the next few months,  everything from Ordeals, Brotherhoods, Section Conclave, Summer  Fellowship, and our Famous Advanced Leadership Course, “Coup Trail”.  All these events are open to members of the OA,  if you are not a member we invite you to contact your local OA Chapter and come and join us at one of our Ordeals, and become a member.  If you have been an OA member for 10 months or more, we urge and plead with you to sign up and attend one of our Brotherhood Ceremonies to  Seal your membership in the OA,  and complete what you started at your Ordeal.

But most of all,  I encourage each one of you to continue to pattern your lives around the Principals and Values around the scout Oath and Law,  the values and principals taught in the OA are the same Standards that have been taught for past 100 years or so in Scouting as well as the OA.!
