section conclave

Every year in the Spring the Section holds a conclave for all of the lodges in the Section.  At the present time we are in Section W2S of the Western Region.

The other lodges in our area comprise the lodge in Ogden and the one in Provo.

The conclave is presided over by a Section Chief, a Section Vice Chief and a Section Secretary.  These officers are elected at the conclave and have, as their primary purpose, the planning of the next yearly conclave.  Any Arrowman can run of office.  Check with the Section Web Page or the Lodge Chief for the details.Conclave

The site of the conclave rotates around the section.  In prior years it has been held at the Davis Country Fairground, the Mancamp at the IPP Plant by Delta, Utah State University, and other locations.

The current format is to register on a Friday evening and end on a Sunday afternoon.  The activities include numerous classes on Native American Crafts and traditions, leadership skills and methods, and Scouting skills, like Dutch Oven Cooking.  in addition there are evening shows, ceremonial competition and a number of outdoor skills such as skeet shooting.  Registration is handled by the section and the plans for the upcoming conclave can be obtained from their website.  Church services are held as part of the Sunday activities.

The conclave usually draws 4-500 Arrowmen from the three councils.  It is a great  time of fellowship and the cost is most for the type of program planned and delivered.  For adults and Arrowmen with some experience there is the chance to teach some of the classes.  It is an experience that is hard to duplicate outside of this event.

The Section web site can be found under the web links section at the top of the Home page.
