LODGE EVENTS

The Lodge has a number of annual events that occur every year.  We invite members to plan on them and come out and attend.  You can register for any of them by clicking the links on the calendar.  If the Calendar has not yet been installed, use the registration page.  In addition to these events, there are leadership meetings and chapter events as scheduled by committees or various chapters.

LODGE BANQUET:    Held in January of each year it is the time where we award recognition to individual Arrowmen and to their Chapters, present the Founder's Award and have the Vigil Call Out.  Often we have guest speakers and in the past have hosted an Olympic Gold Medalist, a Sherpa who had the most assents up Everest (18), and other notable individuals.  It is normally held on the 3rd or 4th Saturday of January.  Arrowmen and their guests and family are invited.  Tickets are available in November.  The cost is usually about $12.50 per person

ORDEALS:   Members are needed for staff at Ordeals.  You can register by contacting the Vice Chief for this event and letting him know of you desire.  No prior experience is needed.  There is usually a small fee for food at the event - usually around $10.00.  Plan on spending the full 24 hour period.

FELLOWSHIP:  In the early part of June of each year the annual Fellowship is held.  It is usually at one of the council summer camps just before it opens to Staff Week.  The event runs from Tuesday through Saturday morning.  There is provision for a reduced fee for those who can only attend part of the week.  Friday night is the traditional Steak Fry.  Activities include most of the activities available at a summer camp, including water front (if it is warm enough, shooting sports, and other activities.  Check out the Fellowship Page for an idea as to what is available.  You can also plan on a Brotherhood Ceremony if you are eligible.  Fee usually includes a t-shirt and a patch.  Registration is available on line.  The cost for the five days recently has been around $85.00 and includes registration for the coming year.

KICKOFF:  Held in Early September, it is the time where the lodge and chapter leadership gets together for its annual program kickoff.  There is no fee and anyone interested in participating in committee or leadership is invited.

SCOUT-O-RAMA:  In early May of each year.  The OA has a substantial presence in this program, usually setting up several activity areas.  We set up on Friday night and then are in place for the full show.

SECTION CONCLAVE:  The Lodge is a member of Section W2S along with the lodges in Provo and Ogden.  Each year, usually in April, a 3-day conclave is held in various locations.  It starts on Friday night and ends on Sunday afternoon. Church services for most denomination are held during the conclave.  It is a great chance to meet other Arrowmen from these council, attend various classes on skills, Native American subjects, Leadership, etc., and to enjoy varied activities.  Chapter Advisers can arrange transportation.  The costs for the 3 days varies but is usually around $50.00 and includes all food, a patch and the activities.  Registration can be done on line.  Current information is here.

NOAC:  National Order of the Arrow Conference.   Every 2-3 years the Order of the Arrow holds a national conference somewhere on a college campus.  Recently these conferences have been held in the midwest.  The conference draws about 7,000 Arrowmen from across the nation.  Housing is in college dorms.  There are classes in leadership, scout skills, Native American skills and crafts and many other subjects.  Each night is topped with a full stage show.  Founder's Day is a highlite with most of the lodges having a booth to demonstrate a skill or a unique part of the area in which they are located.  The lodge has always taken a contingent to the conference and the fee various depending on the location, airfares, and tour activities.  Check out the NOAC page for current details.

PATCH AUCTION:  One of the ways that the lodge raises funds for its programs is through the annual Patch Auction.  It is held in October-November time frame each year and draws those interested in buying, selling, or trading patches.  On Friday night there is a Trade-O-Ree where anyone can participate and on Saturday morning the Auction is held.  There are silent auctions and live auctions for items of all price ranges.  If you have old Scout Memorabilia we would welcome your donation of some or all of it.  We have a distinctive flap for those who donate at least $50.00 worth.  We need Arrowmen to staff the event.  Information on the next one is here.
